This beginners course covers all of the basics of light and color for painting, starting very simple, even covering the essentials of software needed to start painting digitally. Don't know the software? Don't worry, I will guide you through everything.
Is this course also for traditional painters? The skill of observing light, colors and materials applies to all mediums, so the course will still be very helpful. But the processes of digital art vary from traditional as one is an additive media (we start at black and add lights in digital) and the other subtractive (we start with a blank white canvas and add paint and pigment to darken).
The focus is about learning to see and recognize the science and art of light and how to replicate this in simple paintings.
During this course, students will learn how to paint anything they see and how to observe light in the world around them.

Students are introduced to digital painting tools such as Photoshop, Krita, Affinity Photo, Clip Studio Paint, and Procreate. They learn how to utilize specific features and brushes in these programs to enhance their digital artwork.
Brush Techniques and Textures
Various brush techniques are taught to create different textures and effects. For instance, using a 'Chalky' brush for soft textures or a 'Classic Oil Smooth' brush for smoother surfaces. This helps students achieve a variety of looks in their paintings. There are brushes included for download as well.
